This is for regular reader and ex-PE girl Brenda, who lived here a while back. We featured a "Then and Now" of her at the house in 1949 (now now, it isn't gentlemanly to do the maths!) recently and she wanted to see how it looks now, so here you are.
It also looks like that little white car have been standing in front of the house since 1949. Hee hee.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed both this photo and the link. The hill reminds me of San Francisco.
ReplyDeletethe little car is not that old, it just belongs to a Port-Elizabeth taxi driver !!!

Sharing the present day photo shows a very appealing scene. Sharing the 1949 photo makes the post special.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to Brenda.
Greetings from Denton from Greenville Daily Photo and the Daily Photo Map.
I was going to mention that car too. It does draw the eye!
ReplyDeleteI hope that one day in 60 years time, the house where I grew up is also still standing!
ReplyDeleteHi Thanks for sharing this, I went to the same school as Brenda and she was responsible for me finding your photos, I love to see how PE looks now. I left it, and my family in 1972 and have only been back on 2 visits since then. I worked in Main Street (Barclays Bank) in 1971/1972 was sad to see what Main Street had become in 2001, on our first visit. Cetral looked better in Jan/March 2008 for our 2nd visit.
