Our friend Gaston from France sent this photo of his son at the Donkin Reserve in 1960. I don't know what the occasion was but it looks interesting, can you just hear the skirling of the pipes?
and now, somewhat quieter recently, as the sun rose behind the monument.........
I love the "then and now" comparison and the second photo is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletethe first one is not bad either !!!
ReplyDeleteThat picture was taken in july 1961, a few days before we went back to France. The little lad did not know then that years later he would join the french army and spend 15 years in it
Gaston
hehe, Gaston... cute.... and now he must be a middle aged man, about 5 years younger than me (Sue)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sunrise picture. I wish I could get out more so early in the morning but there is one problem. Getting out of bed. LOL
ReplyDeletethe little lad is now 48, has 2 kids and his eldest son just got married. He lives in south of France where he keeps all the sunshine for himself and leaves us (up in North near the belgian border) rain and cold spells. Thats life
