Sunday afternoon ice cream

I remember how we bought ice creams from the ice cream man on his bicycle on Sunday afternoons when we were children.  You could hear the bell ring as he came around the corner and if we were allowed to buy an ice cream we would run out to the gate as fast as possible to stop him before he passed.  The ice cream man still makes his rounds on Sunday afternoons.  We don't get him down our street as often as I did when I was small, but my kids know the bell and they know the drill.

  4. I havent seen an icecream man for yonks. What a thrill. I remember that they used "dry ice" that used to smoke and swirl when they opened the lid.

  5. Why in this country where the sun is always shining somewhere, do we go to nuclear and fracking, instead of solar?!!

  6. We have ice cream men on bike like this in Jakarta. Interesting to know that such vendors also exist in another country.

  7. We get the whistling feather duster sellers more often now than the ice-cream sellers. I remember how I would run to my mother and ask for ice-cream and if she said yes I would run to the street but by that time the ice-cream guy had disappeared including my promise of and ice-cream.
