The gracious old Post Office building in Baakens Street, Port Elizabeth is one of our heritage buildings that is rapidly falling into disrepair through neglect.
Apologies for sounding like a know-it-all, Firefly, but is this not the old Baakens Street Police Station? Although it looks like one building, the Police Station and G.P.O. are two seperate buildings.
This is a beautiful building--I like the angle of the photo too
ReplyDeleteFantastic old architecture with plenty of character!

Goodness! It's so beautiful. We have some buildings like this in Mumbai built by the Britishers. Where are the people?
