The Third Avenue dip is convenient short cut from Newton Park to Mangold Park, Lorraine or Walmer. However, the dip is prone to occassional flooding and many a motorist who has misjudged the depth and force of the water, or been too lazy to take the long route has been swept away.
"Swept away"?? This sounds dangerous; any fatalities?
ReplyDeleteKate I think there may have been fatalities over the years. Moere often then not the unfortunate drivers manage to get out.
ReplyDeleteI knew two elderly ladies whose car was swept away. They came out of unscathed, but took every opportunity to tell an retell their story.
It sounds dangerous but it does look quiet and peaceful.
