I went to Greenacres and The Bridge Shopping Centre for the first time in ages on Sunday morning and snapped this pic from the windows on top of The Bridge. It looks down on CJ Langenhoven Drive going towards the Cape Road interchange. And before you ask why there are so few cars on the road, remember it was Port Elizabeth on a Sunday morning.
Uh-oh, as I saw the [lack of] traffic, I thought, mmm, Sunday in SA. Beautiful photo of a street we know. We have dear friends who live in Greenacres Village and often go to the shopping centre while the friends have an afternoon nap, but never been on top of this bridge. We're off to visit them within this week coming. Perhaps I'll see a man with a camera and KNOW it's a blogger from PE. LOL. Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteGood timing, especially if the mall was just as quiet.
ReplyDeleteA columnist in the Sunday Times said that PE is the most under-rated city in SA. I tend to believe her. Looks lovely and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Port Elizabeth but now live in Pretoria. I visit Port Elizabeth regularly en stay in the Humewood Hotel. I always make a point of going to Greenacres shopping centre and sit down for a cup of tea in the restaurant on the Bridge overlooking that same street. Then I just sit and stare and wish that I was there permanently. PE is so clean, friendly and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA lovely pic, Firefly. Nice vantage point though
